You can love all this pre-Christmas rush. Or you may hate it and enjoy the quiet coziness coming after the holidays. In both cases, this time after Christmas eve and before the New Year is great for taking a pause. There’s an overwhelming amount of data, nonsense and news in the media right now. Not only is it all over our TVs, but it also floods our social media feeds. It’s making us insane. Stop scrolling those perfectly curated Christmas feeds.
Instead, spend more time looking into your kids’ eyes than staring at screens. Hold hands, not video game controllers. Choose human connection, joy and laughter. Remember that each one of your electronic devices comes with an off button. Use it for a digital detox. Although sometimes this task is challenging, give yourself a break.
