As a psychotherapist, I believe empathy is a strength – when it’s practiced with healthy boundaries. Empathy helps people feel seen, deepens trust, and supports better, more compassionate choices. But it isn’t unlimited. Without guardrails, it can leave us feeling drained or overwhelmed.
